Indications for Sex Reassignment Surgery

By John Randell, 1971

An article by the infamous John Randell of the Charing Cross Gender Identity Clinic, going over his clinical guidelines for accepting transgender patients as they stood in the early 1970s. Randell was immortalised in the BBC documentary A Change of Sex for being cold, calculating, cruel and uncaring in his treatment of patients, and this document serves as a testament to how the early Gender Clinics in the UK functioned.
