This photo essay was developed from images and narratives shared by LGBTQ youth who participated in a Photovoice project (Smith, Gensemer, Smith, & Swint 2016). The photographs used here were taken by 6 trans, genderqueer, and agender youth who gave their permission for the images to be used for scholarly purposes.
