Published in: Gender & History 33. Pages 296-313. This article is about the galli. They are priests of Cybele in Antiquity. They castrated themselves and wore feminine clothing. In this article Mowat argues that they took a non-binairy social role within Roman society. Mowat use neopronouns to refer to them and suggest that drag-theory can give new insights in the historical debat on the galli.
